Q: How long does it take to set up the backup account?

A: Orders are usually approved upon receipt of payment unless we need to do additional fraud screening.

Q: Which payment methods do you accept?

A: Currently, we accept payment via PayPal and credit/debit cards via PayPal.

Q: Do you offer a money back guarantee?

A: Yes! Just request the refund within seven days. Please note that there are no refunds where a service breach has occurred.

Q: How will I be billed for my services?

A: We bill monthly. Invoices are sent out 14 days in advance.

Q: Can I upgrade/downgrade my account?

A: You can upgrade/downgrade at any time by only paying the difference in cost.

Q: Am I locked into a contract?

A: No. You may cancel at any time.

Q: Can I backup data to the backup account?

A: You may use popular protocols such as SFTP, SCP and Rsync.

Q: Will you make a backup of my backup account?

A: Unfortunately, no. Even though we use a RAID protected setup, there is still a slight chance of data loss due to failed hardware/network. For better redundancy, you can back up your account hosted with us to a secondary backup storage service hosted at a different provider. After all, you can never have too many backups.

Q: Do you maintain data privacy?

A: Yes. We do not trawl through your data in any way, and the only time that your data will ever be released is when a court with valid jurisdiction in the United Kingdom orders the same. We always require a court order and will never share your data without one.

Q: Can I migrate my data away?

A: Yes - it's your data after all. You may migrate your data using your preferred choice of protocol whether that be SFTP, SCP or Rsync, to name a few.

Q: Are there any restrictions on what I can host?

A: We only require that your content complies with UK law. This means that, for example, legal adult content, is perfectly acceptable.

Q: How much RAM and CPU power will I get?

A: Regardless of the storage space, all backup storage accounts will have 1 vCPU with 512MB dedicated RAM and can burst up to 2GB RAM.

Q: How much bandwidth can I use?

A: Also known as data transfer. We do not count individual ingoing and outgoing traffic towards your invoice.

Q: Can you configure my backups for me?

A: For free, we can do a basic config for you, i.e. setup backups for you within cPanel or JetBackup software only. For anything more custom than that you would need to hire someone. Please note that even if we do configure something for you, it is your responsibility to ensure the backup is working regularly.

Q: How fast are your backup servers?

Q: Which OS/virtualisation technology do you use?

A: We use CentOS 7 along with CloudLinux/CageFS

Q: What is cPanel Access

A: With our inexpensive cPanel-powered backup storage hosting accounts, you can easily manage data using the built-in File and SSH manager, set up and run password-less automated commands using authorization keys via cronjobs that can be configured to run at anytime to automate backups (even on multiple servers at the same time) all while using the bandwidth efficient rsync technology via SSH.

Q: Does StorageSpider offer file-level or block-level backup?
